The cutest little acorns perfect for a center piece this Fall!
What You Will Need:
- Glue gun
- Jute string (I used two different thicknesses to add variety to my acorns)
- Scissors
- Chalk paint (pick your colors)
- Paint brush
- eggs (you can use foam eggs or plastic Easter eggs)
Step 1
Paint your eggs with the chalk paint. I personally like the look of the chalk paint because it gives off a matte finish. I used white for this demonstration, but I think mixing a few complimentary colors would look great! Also, make sure to take into consideration your paint color vs the color of your eggs. A few of my foam eggs were blue and because I was using white paint, it took multiple coats.
Step 2
Once the paint is dry, use your glue gin to dab a small amount of glue around the center of the egg, a little more toward the thick side of the egg. The thick side of the egg will be the hat of the acorn. Place the end of the jute string on the dab of glue and press down until dry. Then, use the glue gun to secure the jute string as you wrap it around the egg, toward the top of the thick side.
Step 3
Once you reach the top of the egg, cut off the end of the jute string and glue down the end to the top of the egg and press until dry.
Step 4
Using the glue gun, dab a bit of glue at the top of the acorn, and secure a piece of jute string to make the stem.
